Completely unrelated to search, while Kansas City will always be my hometown and command my utter geographic loyalty, north Texas right around this time is, admittedly, effing paradise. From about mid-April to July, it’s warm enough to get by with flip flops without being scorching and, occassional massive thunderstorms and hailstorms aside, there’s rarely a cloud in the sky. Oh, you’ll pay for it dearly for about four months of triple-digit weather with absolutely no shade to be found, but every other house has a pool and you’ve got football to distract you for the last part – so it’s totally worth it for a permanent grilling season.
This weekend is looking like more of the same beautiful, cloudless weather as far as the eye can see, so for all those who can partake, I highly recommend. It is so choice. Spend some time outside, learn how to grill filet mignon and, if you think of it, send some happy thoughts for me in preparation for speaking at SIPA 2009!
I'm kind of a cross between Led Zepplin and these guys:
