I think this will be a good opportunity for Yahoo to spend time working on its content even more, and to help [...]

May 19th, 2009 No Comments

Seems like everyone inside and outside the industry has pegged Wolfram Alpha as the next Google killer – you know, like Cuil. That really turned out well for the prognosticators, no?
It seems like every new engine with any kind of a backstory is going to be a Google killer. Hell, Twitter added a search function and [...]

Yahoo is getting destroyed

January 12th, 2009 No Comments

Word is that Yahoo’s share of the search market dropped from 30.4% in September to 19.4% in December. In this same span of time, MSN rose up to 16.4%. Google’s somewhere in the neighborhood of 112% as usual.
I’m not sure if this is because MSN’s improving or if Yahoo’s bi-monthly giant algorithm changes of doom [...]

January 12th, 2009 No Comments

The latest global warming culprit is apparently…well, us. By that I mean the search engine industry, we as a whole heard that we’re the problem a long time ago.
More specifically, it’s Google that’s getting the finger this time. Apparently, between your computer and their servers running:
Performing two Google searches from a desktop computer can generate about [...]
