I’ll confess that I’ve had to deal with this a few times in the last few months. Anyone who runs a Wordpress blog would do well to stop by here and pick up the MonitorHackdFiles tool and review the security-based plugins and resources that are outlined there.
If you’re not sure of everything that you might do to help secure your blog, I can also personally recommend the WP Security Scan plugin to take a look at your blog as a whole and tell you where some of the major holes are. They’re not all easy to fix, but it at least helps you get started.
Password protection for your file structure is one of the more hassley ones (in my experience) but DynamicDrivehas a great tool for setting up .htaccess-based password protection for some of your sensitive directories.
Mom says there are no posts that are like me. I am unique.
